Newborn Shoot, County Durham
With Rosie, Ali & Angus

Shot on Pentax 645N
Kodak Portra 400 & Tri-x 400
Developed & Scanned by Carmencita Film Lab

Since I had not only photographed Rosie for her private Mummy & Bump session but also captured a super sweet, outdoor maternity session with both expecting parents – it seemed only fitting to pop round and capture some pictures of baby Angus when he arrived in to this world. And it’s days like these  – and pictures like this – that remind me why I love, love, love being a photographer – being able capture moments that are so incredibly important and special.

Little Angus, 17 days old, tiny and full of the most brilliant and inquisitive, facial expressions! It was a pleasure to finally meet this little man in the flesh! Spending time with these natural parents was such a treat and it was beyond easy to sit with these three, enjoy a coffee and capture these beautiful moments as they happened. We talked about life as grown ups, Harry Potter and what a joy little Angus is! Slow paced home sessions are the best, best way to shoot a new family!

And I just adore shooting newborns on film too.

Black and white film just renders absolutely beautifully and shows off soft touches, shiny eyes, wispy hair and perfect little toes in the most gentle and tender way. On top of that, I am soon to offer one off, darkroom prints from black and white sessions (but more to come on that later!)

Anyway, I’ll leave you with my favourite images from this day and if you’re interested in a newborn session check out what to expect from a shoot here or get in touch!

Finally, huge thanks to Rosie & Ali for letting me be involved in their journey. You guys made the most perfect little human!

London Creative Head Shots | Jeannie
Richmond, London

Shot on Pentax 645N
Kodak Portra 400
Developed & Scanned by Carmencita Film Lab

So, I’ve been venturing into the world of head shots.

I am finding more and more people want personal and creative pictures of themselves for business. Not just the usual, white background, glasses and serious stare, but a honest and positive approach where you can let you personality shine through. Especially if your business is about your personality.

More and more life coaches, bloggers, photographers and artists have been getting in touch for head shots, and – though a little wary at first – I love it. It’s actually such great fun and I pick up some fabulous tips and skills from these amazing, knowledgeable and successful women (c’mon men, you need head shots too!)

For this shoot here I met up with Jeannie, the most positive, inspiring and motivating lady I might have ever met! I started the day ready to take some awesome, creative portraits for her – and left with plans to travel the world, host solo exhibitions and take risks in photography that I want to do – but not sure I can do! (More on this later actually!)

We met in beautiful Richmond, on a sunny day and explored the nearby parks and countryside. It’s such a gorgeous spot in London and the results of this shoot – some you can see below – are simple, but eye catching and colourful portraits, which I am incredibly proud of!

If you need your own photographs taken get in touch at (or there’s a handy contact from above!)
