Family Woodland Shoot with a Twist

Family Woodland Shoot with a Twist.
London Family Photographer.

Oh hello! I admit, 2018 hasn’t been the most productive for me blog-wise.  Sadly it fell out of the priority spot and has been left a little unloved this year. But it’s a changing – and it begins with the most fabulous Family Woodland Shoot! I also have quite a few lovely London family photography, London newborn photography and also some creative branding shoots that deserve to be shared and gushed about. So they’ll soon be popping up here too.

I am starting with a particularly close to me shoot. It’s close to me because it’s the fourth shoot I have done for this lovely family. And each time we do one its absolutely fascinating and wonderful to see how Angus has grown from bump, to newborn to a fantastic, inquisitive little human! As a London Family Photographer, I get to meet and photograph so many bumps to baby to fully fledged families all over this exciting and busy city – and it’s an absolute joy. But this shoot is actually one of the handful that happened when I visit my lovely home in the North East of England.

Now, as the title suggest, this is a family photography shoot that has a bit of a twist to it. I was contacted by the lovely Rosie to see if she could arrange a gift shoot (such a generous and great idea!). The shoot was for best friend and Godfather to Angus, to have some memorable portraits captured with his Godson. So. Sweet.

Of course, as we were heading in to Autumn, we decide a stroll in the beautiful Woodlands was ideal. We head to the beautifulGuisborough Forest. Here we walked, laughed, spotted fish and birds, climbed, ran, explored and picked berry’s. It was as lovely as you can imagine. It even included cookies. Below are a handful of some of my favourite from this family photography session for you to enjoy! You can see another older post of this family over here, or if you think a family walk is the perfect way to capture your own special moments – or you also want to gift a shoot – then head over to my Collections & Prices page to pick a collection that suits your families needs.

South London Motherhood Session – London Newborn Photographer

South London Motherhood Session.
London Newborn Photographer.

As a London Newborn Photographer it’s probably expected that one of my favourite sessions I shoot includes a baby! But, out of all the different types of shoots I get to do, I might rate Motherhood Sessions as my top. Or at least very high up there there. I love them all, but truthfully,  I do adore these sessions in particular.

They’re relaxed, they’re intimate and it’s so special special to see the bond between baby & mum. When you live in such a fast and hectic city like London it’s important to slow down and appreciate everything you have. That’s probably why Motherhood session really pull at my heart strings. The pictures are more than just pictures, they’re important moments. We all hear about how mum’s spend so much of their time taking the photographs of their family that they miss actually being in them. Well this is my little attempt at saying ‘Hold up, let’s change this together” by getting mum and baby behind the camera. Just the two of them. I love it.

I also adore paring natural, gentle window light and traditional black and white film. It makes for the most beautiful, soft, emotive images.

This shoot I am sharing today was shot on a dull, dreary winter afternoon. The skies were heavy as I ventured to South London to visit baby & mum. Little Seb is baby number two, with an older brother it can be a little tricky getting some one-on-one time between these two. So this was perfect. A Motherhood Session with sweet, three month Seb and some much appreciated bonding time, caught on film. It was so relaxed, we had some coffee and settled in the kitchen, by the window, to catch the natural light fall on them both together. In each image you can clearly see the gestures of protective, caring and loving mum and the trust of baby Seb. So. Much. Love.

As a London Newborn Photographer, I love my job when I get to deliver images like these that hold such value to the family. If you’re interested in learning a bit more about them – you can see what is included & the investment of a Motherhood session over here Motherhood Sessions.
